Orthodontics & Invisalign
Crowded, crooked, or misaligned teeth can detract from your self-confidence and create oral health issues. Aside from obvious cosmetic disadvantages, crooked teeth contribute to an uncomfortable bite and increase the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Dr. Latham offers several options for adult orthodontics. He will diagnose the nature of your problem and design a treatment based specifically on your needs and desires.
Traditional Braces
Traditional orthodontics involve brackets with connecting wires to gradually shift the teeth into proper alignment. With traditional orthodontics, Dr. Latham can correct a wide range of issues, including crowding, bite misalignments, and awkward spacing. Treatment with traditional orthodontics has proven effective and long-lasting for children, teens, and adults. Dr. Latham offers metal brackets, as well as clear brackets for adults who prefer a less obvious solution. After wearing braces, patients are provided with retainers to keep newly repositioned teeth from shifting out of place.
Invisalign
Perhaps you’ve heard of “invisible braces.” This revolutionary orthodontic treatment straightens teeth without metal brackets and wires. Invisalign invisible braces are well suited for image-conscious teens and adults who want to improve the appearance of their smiles. Invisalign involves a series of clear, acrylic aligners, that can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. You’ll wear each aligner in your series for about two weeks and visit Dr. Latham every six weeks for "progress reports." Treatment usually takes about one year, instead of two, like traditional braces. As the name suggests, Invisalign clear aligners are almost invisible, so no one will even know you’re wearing braces. As an Advantage Provider for Invisalign, Dr. Latham has extensive hands-on training and experience with Invisalign technology.
